Conni Kotte

If a room really does tell about the person living in it, then Conni Kotte's atelier is a book. Not one that's too elegant and too perfect so that it just lies around untouched. But one that you want to constantly flip through. One that you hold onto, because every time you look at it you discover a new story. A game made up of colors and shapes and styles. “There is absolutely nothing that I don't find,[] And what I don't find, I just make.” Of course not by herself; that's what her experts are for: prop artists, outfitters, upholsterers, carpenters. A network that she take with her from her previous career. For many years the mother of two daughters worked as a makeup artist and later as a production designer in the film business. Her last work was “The Free Will” with Jürgen Vogel. “Just like you have serve the story in film, I serve the people who hire me to design their rooms.”

SCHLOTFELDT LICHT supervises international projects for lighting design and the development of luminaires. To design concepts for the action of light in architecture together with architects and building owners is an improtant aim. Furthermore to find solutions for creative visions on the basis of technical possibilities and to realize those consistently in our projects.

For our planning it is important to consider the human being and his visual and emotional needs. The effect of day light and artificial light on the surrounding architecture is compiled in he design, visualized and transferred into the planning.

This way a lighting architecture is created which joins high quality with and thematic effect on the basis of an innovative and ecological way of thinking.

A high demand in architecture requires specific solutions in light planning and product design more and more. Their development and testing in close corporation with architects and producers is another main focus of our work.
