MikroGarten in the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin in collaboration with Studio Aisslinger

A first of it’s kind microgarden system specially designed for the new 25hours Hotel in Berlin.  The hydroponic system is designed in a modular way and the number of growing shelves can be increased or reduced according to the kitchen’s demand.
The Microgreens grown cannot be found in the market and are one of the most intensive flavorful herbs that can be added to any dish. It is considered as a prestigious ingredient reserved to elite chefs and gourmet cuisine.Microgreens are a tiny form of young edible greens produced from various kinds of vegetables. Microgreens offer the highest concentration of vitamins and nutrients. Microgreens have up to 40 Times More Vital Nutrients than mature plants. Microgreens have intense flavour and aroma and taste like the fully grown plants. For example, radish Microgreens will have an intense radish flavour. The average crop-time for most microgreens is 7–14 days from seeding to harvest. Microgreens are distinguished from sprouts , which are younger and processed in water in dark conditions.

  

About Us

Infarm is the creative brainchild of two brothers, Guy and Erez Galonska. Travelling throughout the globe in search of a piece of land to grow their own food, the brothers discovered hydroponics and other growing methods. They realized the possibility to apply these techniques to growing fresh greens in urban environments. Through careful experimentation and research, Erez and Guy have realized the potential for urban farming in their start-up.

Infarm aims to provide local communities access to fresh produce as well as to share knowledge and resources to encourage individuals and businesses to grow their own fresh fruits and vegetables. This is carried out across several activities including:

  • Neighborhood indoor farms locations which grow and serve organic, non-GMO, chemical-free fruits and vegetables.
  • Customized indoor farming systems for hotels, restaurants and private homes, designed to suit varied needs
  • Lectures, workshops and experiments that demonstrate how indoor hydroponics can provide cost-effective and eco-friendly nutrition to all
  • Compact growing kits which allow individuals to grow microgreens at home.

Infarm is co-founded and owned by Erez & Guy Galonska, Osnat Michaeli and Adi Sasson.

Berlin's 25hours Hotel has joined the evolution in urban farming. It is the first hotel and restaurant in world to have it's own growing system for microgreens.
