Green Key

Green Key was launched in Denmark in 1994 and has been managed by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and its national member organisations since 2002. With more than 6,000 certified business in over 70 countries, Green Key is the most widespread tourism certificate. Our hotels agree to comply with the strict FEE guidelines as part of this collaboration. The plan is for all 25hours Hotels to have obtained Green Key certification by the end of 2024. This will involve the launch of numerous initiatives in guest areas and in the background. Some of these measures include encouraging the use of tap water, reducing water consumption in the rooms, minimising food waste and social cooperation with local and national partners.

Green Key is synonymous with a promise to make vital contributions to environmental protection and sustainability. Strict documentation and frequent audits by experienced inspectors and third parties safeguard the organisation’s high standards and the programme’s transparency. At present, monitoring covers over 100 criteria in 13 categories. Included in these criteria are categories such as water, electricity, food & beverages, waste, washing & cleaning. Information for guests, staff inclusion and other sustainability activities also contribute to the evaluation.
