Beer Garden Päffgen

You’ll find the bedrock of Cologne in the city’s oldest microbrewery: Päffgen. Kölsch beer is still home-brewed here. Regional dishes are served such as Halve Hahn (bread and cheese), Kölscher Kaviar (blood sausage with onion) and Himmel un Äd (black pudding, fried onions, mashed potato and apple sauce). An important part of breweries in Cologne is the traditional waiter (called a Köbes), with an easy-going and good-humoured manner. He will keep re-filling your Kölsch glass until you cover your glass with a beer mat to indicate you’ve had enough. On warmer days you can enjoy your Kölsch in the Päffgen beer garden.
